Garbanzo Bean "Chickpea" Seeds

25 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom garbanzo "chickpea" bean seeds (Cicer arietinum) per packet. Great for hummus, cooking, soups, stews, and salads! Garbanzo grows in a bush that produces pods. Each pod has between 1-2 chickpeas in it. Direct sow 1.5 in deep 2-4 weeks before last frost. Space 6 in apart in direct sun. Space rows 24 in apart. Germinates in 7-14 days. Or start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost in peat pots. Harden to cold and transplant outdoors after last frost. Ensure soil is well drained and avoid overwatering. Don’t use fertile soil or compost. Matures in 90-100 days. Growth slows down in warm temperatures. Plant with corn, cucumbers, carrots, squash, and brassicas.
