75 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom gray zucchini summer squash seeds (Cucurbita pepo) per packet. Most popular summer squash. Start harvesting in 55 days. Firm, tender, and flavorful flesh that is great for cooking, grilling, soups, and roasting. Grows in a bush pattern and produces fruit that thin closer to the stem. Old native variety brought back to Europe by Columbus and popularized in Italy with the name "zucchino" before returning back to America. Best to direct sow 0.5 in deep after last frost when soil reaches 65-70F. Sow in rich soil and full sun. Place 18 in apart in small mounds. Keep soil evenly moist but don’t get leaves wet. Once vines develop, apply mulch. Protect seedlings if temps drop below 65F. Not frost tolerant. Plant with corn and beans. Ready to harvest in 55 days. Pick when 4-6 in long every day or two. Store in fridge. Save seeds that sink in water. Dry seeds for 2 weeks before storing.
