Approximately 2,250 open-pollinated, pesticide free, and wild great blue lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica) seeds per packet. Plant in fall or late winter in tray, bed, or milk jug to break dormancy. Need sunlight to germinate so sow on soil. If not planting during cool season, stratify in fridge for 60 days in a bag with lightly moist matter. Thrive in wet soil and low lying areas near water. Attracts pollinators. Direct surface sow in late fall or 6-10 weeks before last frost in spring. Or stratify in fridge for 60 days and direct sow after last frost. Germinates in 14-28 days once warm temps arrive. Keep seedlings well watered and remove weeds. Thrives in wet areas. Choose flowers that just opened for cuttings. Attracts pollinators. Self seeds after flowering. Spreads easily in the wind.
