50 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom Hopi Blue corn seeds (Zea mays) per packet. Flint corn variety originating from the Hopi Native American tribe in the southeast. Now commonly used in Mexican cooking and dishes. The blue color comes from the anthocyanins. Direct sow 1-2 in deep in full sun as early as 1-2 weeks after last frost when soil temp reaches at least 60°F. Cannot tolerate frost. Space 12 in apart. Space rows 36 in apart. Germination takes 7-10 days. Likes well drained and composted soil. Mulch around plant once established. Use organic pest control on sight of bugs. Matures in 100 days. Harvest after silk turns brown. Plant with squash and beans. Isolate from other corn varieties.
