Red Kyoto Carrot Seeds

Approximately 250 opem-pollinated, non-gmo, and pesticide free Red Kyoto carrot seeds (Daucus carota) per packet. Grow to 10 to 16 inches. Develop the red color once they reach 3-5 inches. Japanese heirloom typically consumed for fertility on New Years. Considered the most flavorful and versatile carrot, perfect for eating, roasting, cooking, juicing, and pickling. Cold weather crop that should be planted in the late summer and fall. Form small, raised mounds every 8 in and place seeds in center. Direct sow seeds 0.125-0.25 in deep in late summer to early fall. Germinates in 10-21 days. Likes cool temperatures and is frost hardy. Grows well in loose soil and full sun. Thin to 3 in after seedlings grow. Matures in 75-85 days.
