Favorite onion due to its top tier flavor and mild onion taste in dishes. Great for baking, salads, and soups. Ready to harvest in 120 to 150 days. Originated over 3,000 years ago in the Mediterranean. The American Flag leeks was first cultivated close to 200 years ago in Scotland. Grows in zones 3-12. Direct sow outdoors as early as soil can be worked, 2 seeds 0.25 in deep. Place in full sun and every 4-6 in. Germination takes 7-14 days. Or start indoors as early as 8-12 weeks before last frost. Keep temp between 65-75F in rich, well drained soil. Transplant outdoors when 6+ in tall into 6 in holes. Frost tolerant. Can autumn sow as well. Plant with celery, carrots, or strawberries.
