50 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom country gentleman corn seeds (Zea mays) per packet. Shoepeg variety with white kernels that form in an irregular pattern. Grows to 7-8 in. Great for roasting, canning, and cream corn. Stalks grow 8 feet and produce 2-3 ears. Tender and sweet flavor. Dates back to the late 1800s and is popular in the south. Direct sow 1-2 in deep in full sun as early as 1-2 weeks after last frost when soil temp reaches at least 60°F. Cannot tolerate frost. Space 12 in apart. Space rows 36 in apart. Germination takes 7-10 days. Likes well drained and composted soil. Mulch around plant once established. Use organic pest control on sight of bugs. Matures in 90 days. Harvest after silk turns brown. Plant with squash and beans. Isolate from other corn varieties. Grows 3+ ears.
