Approximately 200 open-pollinated, non-gmo, and pesticide free English Marigold (Calendula officinalis) seeds per packet. Great companion plant to repel pests for Tomatoes, asparagus, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, and squash. Also repels mosquitos and attracts pollinators. Also called common marigold, pot marigold, Mary's gold, Scotch marigold, or ruddles. The name pot marigold comes from its historical use as a culinary herb. Edible and flavorful flowers with healing properties. Can use in cooking, salves, teas, and tinctures. Direct sow 0.25 in deep after last frost or in the late summer/fall. Or start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Germinates in 7-14 days in soil at 60-75F. Transplant outdoors after last frost. Does well cooler temps or partial shade. Likes well drained soil and light, even moisture. Occasionally pinch off developing tops to promote growth. Deadhead regularly. Self-seeding annual.
