Use Guide
How should the tincture be taken?
There is a glass dropper in the bottle. A recommended dose is 1 milliliter or 30 drops. This roughly equals a filled up dropper. Drop the liquid under your tongue and let sit for 30-60 seconds before swallowing or dilute in a drink and ingest. Take on an empty stomach or between meals.
What are tinctures and how are they made?
The tincture is made by combining 1 part dried herb with 3 parts organic alcohol. The herbs cold infuse for over 8 weeks to preserve all the compounds. The extract is then bottled into glass droppers.
Where are the herbs from?
The herbs are grown by small American and Hawaiian regenerative and organic farms or wild-crafted. The herbs are harvested in small batches and air dried. The herbs are not treated with any chemicals, mold inhibitors, or preservatives when picked. The herbs are not irradiated or heated.
Why is organic alcohol used as the carrier?
Alcohol is a potent solvent because it extracts a wide range of water and alcohol soluble compounds from herbs. Alcohol preserves the herb's active health constituents and keeps them stable. The alcohol quickly deliver the herb's active components into your bloodstream.
What alcohol is used?
I use Prairie Organic Spirits 40% organic corn vodka. The alcohol is sourced from Midwestern American farmers using sustainable practices. The alcohol is 100% organic and gmo-free with no additives, sweeteners, flavorings, or preservatives.
How is this different from other extracts?
Most herbal tinctures and extracts are made by infusing herbs into solvents at high temperatures for only 1-2 weeks. The temperatures destroy many of the beneficial compounds. The short extraction period also does not infuse enough of the compounds. Glycerin is often used even though it is not as effective of a solvent. Glycerin is typically made with vegetable oils from genetically modified sources.
How long do they last?
Tinctures can last for a very long time because alcohol is shelf stable and preserves the compounds. For the most potent results, I recommend consuming within two years.
How much is in each bottle?
Each bottle holds 1 fluid ounce and 30 servings. Each serving is 1 ml of liquid with 333 mg of herb.
How should they be stored?
The herbal tinctures should be kept in the glass amber jars away from heat and light in a cool and dry place.
