Approximately 25 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom pinto bean seeds (Phaseolus vulgaris) per packet. Great for Mexican cooking. Often used to make refried beans. Can be eaten fresh when pods are green or dried for storage. Direct sow 1 in deep at least 1 week after last frost when soil temp reaches 65F. Place 4 in apart. Germination takes 7-14 days. Plant every 2-3 weeks for continuous harvests. Does well in even and well drained soil. Avoid overwatering. Mulch around once established. Needs full sun. Harvest beans starting 90 days after germination when the pods turn brown, are dry, and rattle. Hang or air dry beans to store for winter. Harvest beans daily to promote production.
