150 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom ruby queen beet seeds (Beta vulgaris) per packet. Ideal for pickling, fresh eating, and canning. Smooth skinned and sweet. Quick to mature in 50-55 days. Grows in zones 3-12. Originated from the Mediterranean. Introduced in the 1950s. Direct sow seeds 3-4 weeks before the last frost. Soak seeds in room temperature water up to 24 hours. Then sow 0.5 in deep and pat down soil. Need full sun and well drained soil. Add compost. Space 1-2 in apart. Germination takes 5-14 days. When seedlings are 2-4 in tall, space them to 4-6 in apart. Matures in 50-55 days. Plant with onions, bush beans, cabbage, and broccoli.
