100 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom Snowball Self Blanching Cauliflower Seeds ( Brassica oleracea) per packet. The variety is easy to grow and will wrap and blanch in cool conditions. White head grows to a diameter of 6-10 inches. Introduced to America by Italian immigrants. Grows in zones 3-12. Direct sow 0.25-0.5 in deep 6-8 weeks before last frost when soil is workable. Or start indoors 6-12 weeks before last frost in peat pots. Harden to cold for 2 weeks and transplant when 2-3 leaves emerge. Space 18 in apart. Add compost to soil. Water consistently. Grows best between 50-68F. Direct sow in late summer for fall harvest. Matures in 65 days. Plant with celery.
