Mugwort: An Ancient Healing Herb

Mugwort is one of the most powerful ancient herbal remedies. Mugwort, Artemisia vulgaris, is named after Artemis, the Greek goddess of wild animals, hunting, vegeation, chastity, and childbirth. Mugwort is native to Europe and Asia and is an invasive perennial in America. You can find it along trails, parks, and driveways. Roman soldiers as well as travelers during the Middle Ages would place mugwort into their shoes to give them energy and prevent exhaustion. Mugwort has great benefits for energy, digestion, pain, and hormone health. I use wildcrafted mugwort along with white willow bark, purple coneflower, ginger root, hyssop, and peppermint leaf to make my organic fever and pain relief tinctures. I also use mugwort in my allergy relief tea, allergy relief tincture, menstrual relief tincture, energy and focus tincture, and skin health tincture.
