Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek Seeds
Approximately 200 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom fenugreek seeds per packet (Trigonella foenum-graecum). Used as a medicinal, healing herb and flavoring herb for over 4,000 years in Middle Eastern dishes. Soak seeds in water overnight before planting. Sow after last frost in the spring. Best to direct sow 1/4 in deep every 4 in. Germination takes 7-10 days. Place in full sun. Thrives in many soil types and can be grown in containers. Keep the soil moist and remove weeds. Continually harvest the leaves in as little as 30 days up to four times throughout the summer. Or wait 90-120 days to harvest the seeds when the pods turn yellow. Culinary taste declines when flower buds emerge. Eat fresh within 3 days of harvesting or harvest the leaves to transform into an aromatic flavor.
