Hyssop Seeds
Hyssop Seeds
Approximately 450+ open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom Hyssop seeds (Hyssopus officinalis) per packet. Native flower to Southern Europe and the Mediterranean. Naturalized perennial in much of the United States. Ancient medicinal herb with healing properties that trace back to the Bible. Loved by pollinators including butterflies, bees, and birds. Direct sow after the last frost in the spring. Surface sow the seeds since they need light to germinate, taking 21-28 days. Grows well in containers and along walkways, paths, and lawns. Prefers evenly drained soil and full sun. Avoid overwatering. Plant near cabbage, cauliflower, bergamot, and coneflower. Prune in spring to promote bushier growth. Harvest when the flowers begin to open and in the morning. Hang dry upside down. Leaves hold the most flavor.
