American Elderberry - Sambucus canadensis Seeds

Approximately 45 open-pollinated, non-gmo, and pesticide-free wild American Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis) seeds per packet. Best to direct sow outdoors in the fall. Sow 2-4 seeds together 0.25 in deep in rows of 6-8 feet. Keep soil evenly moist. For indoor planting, heat water to 175F and soak seeds for 24H. Then warm stratify in moist bag at room temp for 60 days. Then cold stratify in fridge for 60 days. Plant seeds 0.25 in deep in slightly acidic soil. Germination takes 45 days. Transplant when 4+ inches tall.
